Image Generation

Steps & Upscaling

Work in progressWe are still adding and refining Help Center articles.

Steps

The Medium, High, Very High, and Extremely High options are step presets. More steps can improve detail on some generations, but they do not guarantee a better image and sometimes make little or no visible difference.

PresetWhat it meansWhen to use it
MediumFewer stepsTesting prompts, extensions, and composition
HighBalanced stepsDefault starting point for most generations
Very HighMore stepsWhen a result is already close and needs another attempt at polish
Extremely HighMost steps where availableUse selectively. It costs more, may be unavailable with some model or extension combinations, and does not guarantee better output.
Credit cost: There is no single multiplier that applies everywhere. Cost depends on the selected model, generation type, sampler quality, extensions, face prompt, and other options. The final credit cost is shown before generation.

Sampler quality

Sampler quality is a separate setting available on some image models. High sampler quality uses a different sampling method that can improve detail, but it takes longer, may cost more, and does not guarantee a better result.

2× upscaling — best for base and older HD images

Tip: For base models and older HD models, 2× upscaling usually produces sharper detail, better skin texture, improved eyes, and stronger final results. It costs 2–5.5 credits depending on size and plan.
HD 2.0 / RAW Photo 2: 2× and 3× upscaling do not have the same quality difference on these models. HD 2.0 upscales use a different upscale algorithm, so choose the scale based on the output resolution you need and the credit cost.
3× upscaling: For base and older HD images, 3× uses a different algorithm and does not consistently outperform 2×, even though the final resolution is larger.

Upscaling requires a Pro plan or above.

Image editing

  • Edit V2 — Describe changes in natural language (e.g. "change hair to blonde", "add clothing", "undress"). Great for edits, undressing, and pose changes. Recommended for most things.
  • Edit V1 — Manually mask areas to regenerate specific regions of an image. Outdated and not recommended anymore.
